2004 Fall Forum on Governance
Governance in the Age of Hard Choices
New York City, October 22-24, 2004
The keynote speaker was Felix Rohatyn, a master financier, global economics and urban policy expert, who as chairman of the Municipal Assistance Corporation of the City of New York saved New York City from bankruptcy in the late 1970s. He also served as the U.S. Ambassador to France from 1997-2000. Mr. Rohatyn spoke about arts' role as cultural diplomacy and as public policy force. Discussion topics included: the relationship between the Artistic Director and the board, board tenure, nonprofit lifecycles, staff sizing and structures in hard times and young audiences, among others. The Fall Forum brought together approximately 150 participants.

On Friday, October 22, events were held at the Bryant Park Grill.
On Saturday, October 23, events were held at the Roundabout Theatre Company's American Airlines Theatre and the Manhattan Theatre Club Rehearsal Studios.
On Sunday, October 24, events were held at the Roundabout Theatre Company's American Airlines Theatre.
